Citizens Advice have released figures that show that they advised on over 1.93 million new cases involving debt problems. Of these, over 7% related to bankruptcy.

This is an 11% increase on the figures for the previous year, and just goes to show that the credit crunch is still having a huge effect.
Some debt advice agencies are expecting even bigger increases in the number of cases this year - Money Advice Trust estimate that it will only be able to advise about half of the people that come to them due to the huge number of enquiries they anticipate.
It is essential that people who are struggling with their debts not only contact the lenders as soon as possible, but they seek FREE and INDPENDENT advice.
At PKS we can offer both independent and free advice, whilst treating your enquiry with the utmost confidentiality. We would urge people not to bury their head in the sand, but to face up to the problem sooner rather than later.
