Latest house price figures from the Land Registry

The Land Registry has today released its latest figures on house prices. The report shows a continued decline in the average cost of homes throught the UK.

The data for March shows a monthly house price change of -1.1 per cent, which is the largest monthly fall seen since February 2009.
The annual change now stands at -2.3 per cent. This brings the average house price in England and Wales to £160,996.
The number of property transactions has also decreased. In October 2009 to January 2010, there was an average of 60,284 sales per month. In the same time period a year later, the figure was 51,548.
